Meet some of our Double Bass Teachers
Emma's feedback about Samuel (Beginner Double Bass tuition near Glasgow)
I got a second hand double bass for my birthday which I couldn't get very far with on my own but I am really enjoying my double bass lessons with Samuel. He has helped me set up the instrument practically and we seem to get through a lot each time - but it's really clear and well explained. I am feeling more confident with each lesson. He also explains bits of music theory (which I could really get the relevance I was trying to learn another instrument as a child) and this is helping to learn the instrument more fully. He is a relaxed presence to learn from and I would recommend him as a tutor wholeheartedly!
Simon's feedback about Dan (Beginner Double Bass tuition near Epsom)
I am very much enjoying working with Dan to learn the Double Bass. As well as being excellent at explaining the physical techniques of playing, his clear explanations of the music theory that underpins what we have been learning has really helped me broaden and deepen my musical knowledge too. Dan has been mindful to shape my lessons around my ability as I progress and this is really helping me out of some ruts. He also supplies notes at the end of each session which are a useful reference point as I continue to practice in my own time. I would definitely recommend Dan as a music tutor.
Clare's feedback about Vicki (Beginner Double Bass tuition near Colchester)
1st session - Very helpful, patient and friendly introduction to learning this instrument. Thanks!
David's feedback about Timothy (Beginner Double Bass tuition near Tavistock)
Although we've not met face to face, Tim was able to explain what he had to offer and compare that to what I needed .He mainly teaches classical double bass and I was looking for a jazz bass teacher and he explained that without trying to coerce me into having lessons that may have been inappropriate. Once Lockdown eases I feel comfortable and confident enough with Tim's friendly and understanding manner to consider starting with him to broaden my knowledge and develop my techniques over a wider range. He seems ideal as a teacher with a sympathetic and pragmatic manner and without having been face to face with him I still feel as though he would be a fine teacher whatever your age.
Alaric's feedback about Mario (Beginner Double Bass tuition near Juniper Green)
Excellent first contact, very nice tutor. Mario is very experienced and has a great approach to teaching music, and he has given me great advice and assistance in selecting an instrument. Strongly recommended.
Miranda's feedback about Timothy (Beginner Double Bass tuition near Torpoint)
So far my daughter has had three lessons with Timothy at our house. He brings his own double bass so that they’re able to play together and he can teach her better technique. He is punctual and professional and given her much needed confidence and technical advice. A real find!
Steve's feedback about Bastien (Beginner Double Bass tuition near Southampton)
A very friendly easy to get along with guy. From communication on email to the first lesson, I was made to feel at ease from the start, and had a great introductory lesson to the upright bass. Looking forward to getting going with more lessons. Highly recommend Bas.
Rebecca's feedback about Paul (Casual Double Bass tuition near Reading)
Great & friendly teacher & tailors the lessons to meet my learning requirements. Explains the theory side clearly & the practical is great too .
Mareike's feedback about Ron (Intermediate Double Bass tuition near Glastonbury)
I had a one-off lesson with Ron. I found it really helpful and it did inspire me to start practising to follow up the things we'd covered in the lesson and gave me some new confidence. He's patient and explained things well so I could understand what was behnd the exercises. I'm run off my feet with a house move at the moment but I'm definitely expecting to ask him for more lessons once things have calmed down.
Rachel's feedback about Adam (Beginner Double Bass tuition near Romsey)
Adam is a great teacher. He is engaging, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Maddie looks forward to her lessons each week and is learning fast. He is reliable and affordable and has a real passion for music which is catching. We would definitely recommend him.
