Meet some of our Clarinet Teachers
Aneen's feedback about Jerry (Beginner Clarinet tuition near Hackney)
Jerry taught my 12 year old daughter, built a great rapport with her and she really enjoyed the lessons.
Pam's feedback about Andrew (Beginner Clarinet tuition near High Wycombe)
I guess beginning to learn an instrument at my time of life, and during a pandemic, might not have been the easiest challenge to give oneself, but I've found Andy to be a really helpful, talented teacher. To begin with we were able to have a face to face lesson but soon afterwards restrictions placed on us meant that all other lessons have since been by Zoom. This is the best we can do for now and Andy is always encouraging and patient with me. I'm really enjoying the clarinet and look forward to being able to return to normal lessons before too long. In the meantime I'm very happy that I can now produce music that I never imagined I would be able to.
Julia's feedback about Ed (Beginner Clarinet tuition near Bristol)
Ed is a great tutor. He is patient and well informed about music. He helped me a lot in my beginning studies, and hopefully again in the future.
Joanne's feedback about Ed (Intermediate Clarinet tuition near Bath)
Ed has been very patient with me! I have lots of commitments, (two young children, work, house renovations) and don’t have time to practice often and he takes it all in his stride and works at a pace I feel comfy with. We are working towards grading and there’s no pressure and I’m really enjoying my one hour of me time each week! Thank you Ed for helping me love music again.
Jane's feedback about Michael (Casual Clarinet tuition near Sale)
As an adult returning to playing the clarinet about 20 years after my last lesson at school, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was nervous about playing in front of somebody at all, let alone a teacher but I knew I needed guidance. I've had a couple of lessons with Michael now and he immediately put me at ease. I was surprised how comfortable and enjoyable I found it as we worked through a little sight reading together. He's been really encouraging and has helped me to work on my tone, remembering the joy of making music not just playing the right notes at the right time. I'm looking forward to making progress and finding a way to make playing a pleasure for many years to come. Update: After a year of lessons with Michael I'm so pleased with how far my playing has progressed. I'm really enjoying learning. Michael clearly enjoys teaching. He is really great at encouraging me to reach towards a higher standard than I think possible, being supportive when I've worked hard but struggled and knowing the difference. Back in March, I found adapting to the covid lockdown difficult at first and that showed through in my playing. Michael was patient and empathetic. He reminded me to be kind to myself, learning remotely at a difficult time. That advice really helped me, not just in getting back in getting back on track, which I have, but in my working life too. I really want to extend my thanks to Michael for everything over the last year and I'm still excited about what we can achieve in the future.
Katie's feedback about Vikki (Beginner Clarinet tuition near Hitchin)
Vikki has a great attitude and patience towards teaching. She has a calm, friendly manner and my son loves and looks forward to his lessons with her.
Geraint's feedback about Ed (Beginner Clarinet tuition near Bristol)
I was new to clarinet and I couldn’t play a note when I first started. Ed has a perfect balance of patience and encouragement. I have learnt a great deal from Ed, not just about how to play the clarinet but how to enjoy playing music and be creative. With Ed’s support and teaching I have progressed with my playing much more than I ever thought I would. Ed has helped me appreciate the subtle nuances that have helped raise the level of my playing and my ability to discriminate between good playing and great playing. Ed comes highly recommended. Thank you for your continued support.
John's feedback about Emma (Beginner Clarinet tuition near Ongar)
Emma is a very accomplished musician and an excellent tutor. I feel that from someone who had only picked up the clarinet a few months ago, I can now, under Emma's insightful and enthusiastic tuition, can now rattle out a simple tune with some confidence. Emma has helped out immeasurably with learning techniques and tips on how to play the instrument. I still have many the odd squeak, but I feel I am making good progress and look forward to the lessons. I am also encouraged to practice at home with pieces and bring them to the lesson to see how to improve my playing of them. I can very much recommend Emma as a first rate tutor and would like to thank her for her patience and enthusiasm.
Elaine's feedback about Hannah (Advanced Clarinet tuition near Ealing)
I have found Hannah to be both very professional and talented. As a mature student myself, working at Grade 5 level, Hannah has recognised both my strengths and weaknesses. She has helped me to improve my technique and suggested new material to work on. I would recommend her to any adult looking to improve their performance level.
Catrin's feedback about Darius (Advanced Clarinet tuition near Barry)
I have now had 3 lessons with Darius . I am delighted with the quality of teaching - I feel that he has carefully assessed my strengths and weaknesses, and we have together worked out a teaching plan to take account of these. He has been very uncooperative throughout on practical matters such as times and venue of the lessons. I am very encouraged about my clarinet playing generally, and enjoying the the experience of being taught by Darius.
