Ozlem is just the teacher I need. The lessons are quite structured and she explains how to practise, e.g. long tones, chromatic scales, Klose exercises. She instructs me how to position my fingers to make sure the holes are fully covered and make it easier to play. She encourages body awareness which is important for me as I tend to get right shoulder pain (I'm right handed and spend too much time at PC). She sent me info about Alexander Technique to help with this. She encourages looking in the mirror sometimes to monitor what I'm doing. She is accepting when I make an awful sound, and very supportive in general. She encourages me to be aware of when I'm getting tired and to take a break. She makes a lovely sound herself.

I have just picked up a clarinet after 53 years since being in my school orchestra! This didn't faze Andrew. He was happy to take on the challenge of getting me playing again. He is approachable, able to merge my requests with what he thinks is the best way forward and is very encouraging, provides good feedback, and identifies where the problems are and helps me sort them. After a frustrating period last week, I feel much more confident and capable after my last lesson and the sound is ok currently. I would recommend him to a wide range of students.
