From Newcastle, Andrew has been playing the clarinet since he was 8 years old. Having much interest in the expression and freedom of playing the instrument he fell in love with it straight away. He continues to enjoy playing a lot whilst studying at the Royal Northern College of Music, in Manchester. He is very enthusiastic and wants to guide young people on how great music is, and teach them what he knows from his experience as a musician. On the other hand you're never too late to learn music so pupils of any age should go for it!
I have recently completed a Postgraduate at the Royal Northern College of Music, in Manchester, along with an Undergraduate degree (BMus with Honours
I have been teaching for a while now. I am very patient and can explain things very well. I have worked with a lot people before, being a young leader for Beaver Scouts. And I also worked with people with learning difficulties in Newcastle, as part of Jessie's Fund, we taught people how to communicate through music.
Furthermore, I am a tutor at YYM (Yorkshire Young Musician) in which I teach for 5 hours a day for a very high standard.
My experience as a performer is varied, being a freelance musician, having played in the Manchester Concert Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, and BBC Philharmonic.
For anyone of any age it needs to be a calm and patient approach - fun at the same time, as that's what music is all about!
