Primary Physics Tutors and Primary Physics Tuition

Engaging young children about learning physics can sometimes be a difficult task albeit an important one. Young children love discovering all about science and participating in fun experiments. Primary physics lessons introduce children to topics such as gravity and weight, relating movement to forces, Earth, the Solar System, Space travel and Light. A primary physics tutor can open up a whole world of discovery for a child.

Learning physics is great for children of all ages but can sometimes be difficult for a child to understand. This is where a private one-to-one or group primary physics tutor can really help. First Tutors is where you can find the most experienced and qualified primary physics tutors for your child's needs, their rates and distance to you. Primary physics lessons may be challenging, but a private primary physics tutor can turn those challenges into something fun.

Masters: First Class Hons in Astrophysics (2008)
tutoring within the Oxford collegiate system. I am easy going and not at all intimidating for a physicist, so I would be a good choice for students who need help with confidence. Equally, I have experience in motivating students who are struggling with concentration issues, or who are simply becoming apathetic with learning. I also have experience with young over achievers who find that class work in school is not challenging enough. I have a...

sense. This experience has made me acutely aware of the different ways people learn, and how their environments affect this process, and therefore the need for the teacher or tutor to be aware of this. I personally find it an achievement to see a student making progress with their learning or watching as the light bulb goes on with new understanding. I began working with young people in the capacity of a youth worker. I...

Fun Primary Physics Experiment - What absorbs more heat?

Experiment with light, colour, heat and some water to find out whether it is better to wear light or dark coloured clothes on a hot summers day. Do dark or light coloured clothes absorb more heat?

Things you will need:

  • A thermometer
  • Sticky-tape or two elastic bands
  • 2 identical drinking glasses
  • White paper
  • Black paper

What to do:

  • Wrap one glass with the white paper and one glass with the black paper. Use the tape or elastic bands to secure them.
  • Fill the glasses with the same amount of water.
  • Place the glasses in the sun ad leave them there for a couple of hours.
  • Measure the temperature in each glass.

What you will see:

  • You should notice that the glass with the black paper is hotter than the glass with the white paper.
  • Darker colours absorb more light and heat that lighter colours.
  • Lighter colours reflect more light; hence it is better to wear lighter coloured clothes on a hot summers day to stay cooler!

Q: What do astronauts do when they get angry?

Primary Physics Fact

Light is incredibly fast. Light from the Earth takes just 1.255 seconds to reach the Moon, and light from the Sun takes 8 minutes 20 seconds to reach the Earth!
