Passion for Teaching:
My journey into teaching began while teaching undergraduate students during my PhD. Having tutored for the past 16 years, I've learned that every student has the potential to succeed with the right guidance. I believe in creating tailored lessons that align with each student's unique learning style and needs, helping them develop both confidence and a genuine love for learning.
16 years tutoring and examiner experience. 99% of my tutees have excelled in their respective subjects jumping a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 5 grades and gained admittance to chosen Independent schools. Verified testimonials available.
Teaching Philosophy:
While top grades are important, my focus goes beyond that. I work to develop intellectual intuition and mathematical creativity in my students. A motivated, passionate learner achieves more than one focused solely on grades. By fostering curiosity and understanding, I prepare students for long-term success.

Strongly geared towards adopting a bespoke teaching method based towards a tutee's individual requirements and style of learning with a strong belief that the right approach will make every student either meet or exceed his/her ambition. In my opinion this has been the number one factor that has delivered outstanding results. In fact, most students report back substantial improvement in their class performance within 3 -4 weeks.
Grateful that I have never had an unsatisfied client as high emphasis is placed on carefully listening to the specific needs of the client and focusing on developing individual bespoke lessons rather than one-size-fits-all approach.
Understanding the personality of the student and thereby adapting an approach to maximise their potential has delivered beyond expectations results. For example, some students are independent learners and are self-driven but lack direction, others need a hand-held approach from start to finish. Some are good audio learners while others are visually driven. More often than not this involves a fair bit of mentoring and motivating the student too!
This not only encourages my students to ask questions they would otherwise be hesitant to ask but also creates a pleasant environment that imparts maximum learning.
Lively, informal and interactive tutorials are my preference, where after making the fundamental key concepts clear the student is encouraged to practice maximum number of questions to ensure that the ideas have been fully grasped followed by a thorough practice of topic-based exam-style questions so they get used to these early on.
Relevant topic-based questions are set as homework to encourage full grasp/learning consolidation. These include both drill as well as exam questions for practice.
Cancellation policy: minimum 24 hours notice period required otherwise full lesson fee is applicable as I am unable to offer that hour to another student.
