Educated to PhD level - a senior tutor with 15+ years experience, approved by Tutorsandexams as a senior examiner. MSc in Computing Science & BSc in Physics with First class honours from Imperial college, London, offering bespoke lessons in maths and science across all boards and levels.
Previously worked as a senior quant analyst in prestige hedge funds/investment banks for 13+ years specialising in the development of investment strategies for market neutral long-short equity portfolios. Some of the top companies I worked for include AllianceBernstein Ltd London and Investcorp in Bahrain.
My love for teaching developed after having tutored several undergraduate students during my PhD.
Over the past 15 years working with students has taught me that any student can be successful if guided in the right direction. There is no 'one-size-fits-all', only a deep understanding of the student's exact requirements coupled with his/her learning style help me steer them onto a successful journey ensuring they develop a passion for learning.
Helping students achieve excellence brings me great joy and the many success stories of students who joined me with grades below 2 going on to score 7-9 grades (references available) are especially pleasing.

PhD project was based on developing an objective method of the quantification of the skin disease psoriasis using video images of capillaries under the skin that have been injected with sodium fluorescein. I have been tutoring students successfully for more than 15 years and am happy to say that nearly all of my tutees have gone on to achieve excellent grades in their respective subjects. Testimonials available.
I was a keen student myself throughout my life achieving 9 As and 2 Bs at O levels and 4 As at A-levels. The skills I learnt that helped me achieve top grades have successfully guided me in life when tutoring/mentoring students. Helping my tutees achieve top grades is not my only concern (although I make it top priority), development of their intellectual intuition and mathematical creativity is of utmost importance to me. An inspired and passionate student will achieve a lot more in life than one who is just focussed on getting the top grades!
My approach is extremely flexible as I tend to adapt my teaching method based on the tutee's particular needs.
I am grateful that I have never had an unsatisfied client as high emphasis is placed on carefully listening to the specific needs of the client and focusing on developing individual bespoke lessons rather than one-size-fits-all approach. It's important to me to understand the personality of the student and thereby adapt an approach that will maximise his/her potential. More often than not this involves a fair bit of mentoring and motivating the student.
As a tutor it's very important to me that I understand the personality of my tutee in order to make him/her fully comfortable in my presence and also to gauge what mode of teaching is most suitable for him/her. I have learnt some students are better audio learners whilst others are more visually driven.
This not only encourages my students to ask questions they would otherwise be hesitant to ask but also creates a pleasant environment that imparts maximum learning.
I believe in lively, informal and interactive tutorials, where after making the fundamental key concepts clear to my students I get them to practice maximum number of questions to ensure that the ideas have been fully grasped.
I usually set them questions as homework (taking into account the tutee's time schedule) on the topic we cover during the lesson to encourage full grasp of topic as well as to consolidate his/her learning. These include both drill/practice questions as well as exam questions for practice.
One hour free consultation available after First tutors introductory fee is paid. First lesson fee fully refundable if you decide not to proceed with me.
Upon joining me for any lesson cancellation 24 hours notice is required otherwise full lesson fee is applicable as I am unable to offer that hour to another student.
