I've had quite a few lessons with Patryk now, and I am getting a lot out of my lessons. He picks out lots of little details that make so much difference, both in musicality, such as getting phrasing right, and also technique. As an older diploma-level student, coming back after a break and having not had lessons at all for decades, I'd got in to some bad habits that I'd not realised until they were pointed out, and I've found it great that he is going back to basics with me to sort these out, but also discussing intricate details about how to perfect a piece in the same lesson. I am definitely noticing the difference in my general playing already, as well as learning a lot about individual pieces and styles of music, and every lesson we seem to cover a lot of ground. He is very friendly and professional, and clearly very passionate about piano, and he is very reliable. It is brilliant to have someone who can come to my house so I don't need to travel. Patryk loves to give examples of what he is talking about, with clips on you tube of performances to illustrate his point, pianists / particular pieces to listen to and so on. He is generous with his time, and happy to answer questions between lessons. I feel the lessons are very well-rounded. I definitely think he is a great teacher for advanced level and can imagine he would also be great for kids / beginners. I thought I should be able to get my piano playing back on track by myself at my level, but having lessons again has made me realise just how much difference a good teacher can make.

Carl (known to me as CJ) was an excellent teacher. He took me from being totally unable to sightread to sitting my Grade 5 practical exam within about 18 months. One of my main anxieties as a student was that any given piece of music was simply beyond me; I couldn't imagine how it could possibly be playable. But CJ had a way of making things seem not only achievable but inevitable. He was able to meet me exactly where I was; I already had some ability on the piano and I'd had piano teachers in the past who wanted to pull me back to Grade 1 and go from there. CJ, however, had no problem starting me off on the Grade 5 syllabus and getting me through that exam comparatively quickly. He also took time out of his busy schedule to provide the necessary music theory tuition so I could get my Grade 5 in that discipline before sitting the practical exam, all whilst studying as an undergraduate at University. It was also a great privilege to study under CJ's tuition because he is himself a great pianist. His insight and understanding of the instrument was supported by his passion; his knowledge of the repertoire and the history of Western classical music. To study under CJ's guidance would be a gift to students of all levels.

Thank you Sarah! My teenage daughter (grade 5 piano) has only had one lesson with Sarah so far (we live a bit too far away). Sarah was kind and welcoming, professional and clearly has a very high degree of skill and knowledge in music.
