Personal Description:

Hello, my name is Shelby and I am a music composer for TV, Video Games and even Film now. I play multiple instruments and have composed and produced hundreds of tracks over my career. I love teaching and passing my knowledge on when it comes to piano, keyboard, guitar and music production. I keep a limited number of slots open for teaching as I like to know you are getting the best lessons possible from me. I have taught all ages and experience levels for over 20 years and am happy to help anyone achieve their musical goals, whether it's to have fun, or become a professional musician.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching for over 20 years, starting with the Pop and Rock music school in Guildford. Since then, I have been the head of music at a school in Ninfield for 10 years.

Privately, I have taught hundreds of students from 5 year olds all the way up to 95 year olds (actually true!).

I write music for Video Games, TV and have even had a track on a film (Boy Kills World 2023). I really enjoy teaching along side composing do I can pass on my knowledge and solidify ideas in my mind to improve my craft.

Tutoring Approach:

My technique for teaching instruments has evolved over the years, I now tailor the lessons to you specifically depending on your needs. You will learn all the fundamentals of the instrument, along with learning how to practice effectively, get to grips with music theory and learn the songs you like. Instruments are taught exclusively in person as it is a much better teaching method than online.

I teach Music Production and composing too, in person and online via Zoom. Learn how to make music for video games, TV and film using whatever DAW you are comfortable with. I do demonstrate all these techniques using Logic Pro X though so make sure you are familiar with your own software first (or use Logic/Garageband if you want me to help you from scratch).
