Sarah was able to determine and make recommendations in which direction Seb wishes to go forward with his interest in music. Tutor was able to introduce him to Music technology and back this up with related theory. At the moment, Seb has basic knowledge of musical notes and guitar notes so Sarah may be able to build upon this existing knowledge. Sarah is incredibly versatile - feedback is such following our initial lesson.

Annabel has been so helpful with everything to do with music theory! I went from knowing absolutely nothing about music theory to getting 100% in my grade 5 in just a few months and I really felt (and still do) that I understood everything to a much deeper level than just being able to answer the questions. She also always manages to make the theory lessons interesting and accessible, breaking concepts down step by step and really helping me to understand each segment so I never felt overwhelmed by all the content and so I was always interested in learning more and reading into further theory. The lessons made me start to actually like music as a subject and find a genuine interest in all elements of it!

My son is a grade 6 drummer looking to be equipped with a ‘toolkit’ of music theory that will allow him to access higher GCSE Music grades, maybe A Level and possibly even degree level eventually… rather than the theory exams. I think Diane has been perfect for this - she has a percussion background and understands that drummers need very specific instruction to make the jump over from drum notation to standard music notation. She has an energetic and enthused style which helps keep everything moving as well. She isn’t what you might expect when she turns up for the first time, but I really like her, she really cares about doing a good job, and as importantly very quickly cares about her student getting what they need to enable their success.
