Personal Description:

I know you want to express yourself. Who doesn't? I also know it can be scary-exciting too. That I understand wholeheartedly. Lets not allow fear stand in the way of your musical dreams!

Hi, I'm Cal;

A working Singer-Songwriter based in Surbiton, Surrey, UK. I'm an enthusiastic multi-instrumentalist with a passionate flare for the creation and expression of music. What you seek is inside of you, I know this because I deeply and intuitively understand the ebbs and flows of learning, feeling like a beginner and the potential set-backs. This awareness means wherever you are in your journey I can help guide you to where you want to be and I would love to be a part of that.

Plus I'm a massive Beatles & Star Wars fanatic too!

Tutoring Experience:

Throughout my career I have received insightful lessons and profound advice from both teachers and musicians alike, ranging from leading vocal science experts, classically and contemporary stylised tutors, innovative songwriters and music production icons. I strongly believe these dedicated and focused teachers highlighted the best within me (and all their students) and I endeavour to pass that on.

I am constantly researching and developing my own professional musical knowledge and practices; having graduated with a BA (Hons) in Songwriting with a specialism in Vocal Production.

Music is everywhere; at work, in the car, at the shops, we are surrounded by it. Its brilliant! There is always a song we really want to dive in to.

Tutoring Approach:

It is vital that a holistic approach is taken to learning an instrument, especially the voice. The centre of my approach is Student Centred learning, to help bring centre stage the musician that's always been within you.

I currently specialise in teaching young adults (11+) and adults of any age and ability, as I can emphatically guide the best and authentic self through their journey of learning new skills.

Together we can explore many aspects of music from technical understanding, vocal health, production, performance coaching and creating a foundation of ease and comfort for any musical style or genre.

From beginners to advanced players, we all have room to grow. I am grateful to have learnt much from my students as do from me. If you play already (even a little) you know that feeling and if you want to build on that, we can. You want to have that feeling, be a musician? You will. A willingness to learn and grow is all you need, because its already within you.

Anyone can be a musician!

Tell me what you would like to achieve from our lessons.
