This is how 2 referees rated Joe:
Hello there! My name is Joe and I'm a Manchester based guitarist who has an honours degree at the Royal Northern College of Music on the BMus (Hons) Popular Music degree. I specialize in Rock, Blues, Jazz, Pop, Funk and Metal genres. As well as teaching, I provide work as a live and studio musician having recorded in a variety of Manchester-based studios and also performing in a variety of bands and ensembles including the ‘RNCM Session Orchestra’. I also regularly play guitar in function bands at the weekends for weddings and corporate events, travelling all over the country.
A few key moments in my music career so far would be playing guitar in the 'Manchester Christmas Lights Switch On’ to over 20,000 people. Performing on radio for BBC Live Lounge twice was also an amazing and surreal experience to be a part of. One of my favourite live events that I have been involved in would have to be playing guitar with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra for the show 'Frank Wildhorn and Friends' at 'Manchester's Palace Theatre'.
"Joe is a perfect example of what a young guitarist should strive to be: creative, flexible and driven. Every time I hear him he gets better and better, and will be a real force to be reckoned with in the future." - Callum Dewar (Bassist/Guitarist/Session Musician/Composer/Teacher)
"I feel that Joe has already achieved an impressive level of musicianship and performance skills." - Johnny Heyes (Guitarist/Session Musician/Teacher)
I've been teaching since 2016 to students of all ages and abilities, ranging from 5 years old to 60 years old, beginners to advanced. I have taught both private one-to-one students and also in schools to groups of various sizes, so I've had experience in both roles.
I would like to consider my approach to be very relaxed and calm. My goal is to make sure that the lessons are not just something that you hopefully learn something from but is fun for both of us! If I could choose two things that I would want a student who's just finished a lesson with me to feel; they would be a sense of inspiration and drive to want to get better and better.
I try to cater my teaching to your specific musical interests and goals. Whatever it may be, it can be discussed between us and we can agree on the most suitable path for you!
