As well as being excellent at explaining the physical techniques of playing, his clear explanations of the music theory that underpins what we have been learning has really helped me broaden and deepen my musical knowledge too. Dan has been mindful to shape my lessons around my ability as I progress and this is really helping me out of some ruts. He also supplies notes at the end of each session which are a useful reference point as I continue to practice in my own time. I would definitely recommend Dan as a music tutor.

Although we've not met face to face, Tim was able to explain what he had to offer and compare that to what I needed .He mainly teaches classical double bass and I was looking for a jazz bass teacher and he explained that without trying to coerce me into having lessons that may have been inappropriate. Once Lockdown eases I feel comfortable and confident enough with Tim's friendly and understanding manner to consider starting with him to broaden my knowledge and develop my techniques over a wider range. He seems ideal as a teacher with a sympathetic and pragmatic manner and without having been face to face with him I still feel as though he would be a fine teacher whatever your age.
