Personal Description:

I graduated from the University of York with an MA in Music, specialising in Piano Performance. While studying, I held the Accompanist Scholarship for the department for two years, which required me to play for undergraduate and postgraduate recitals, UCAS auditions and masterclasses.

I teach privately and at two independent schools in York. I also accompany a weekly choir in Tadcaster and regularly play for ballet classes and music exams.

I graduated with BMus Music (Hons) from the University of Hull in 2015. I have a distinction at both ABRSM Grade 8 piano and double bass. I also regularly play for various orchestras in the North of England.

I offer a rental scheme for double basses to allow beginners and students to access the correct size of bass for their needs, without the headache of having to buy and sell a double bass each time the student grows.

Tutoring Experience:

I teach at an independent school in York in addition to my own private students. I have experience of accompanying exams, recitals, masterclasses, ballet classes and choirs. I also spend most weekends playing for various orchestras in the North of England.

Tutoring Approach:

I approach teaching in a traditional but flexible way. Lessons are tailored around what the student would like to learn and through their preferred way of learning.

I prefer to take time between exams so students can develop their playing and musical understanding without the constant pressure of examinations, although I’m also happy to teach non exam repertoire.

I am willing to adapt to a student's style of learning and tailor lessons around each individual student.
