Working from a well equipped music room in her home in Essex, she provides fun and engaging lessons and encourages her students to pursue musical interests out of lesson time, such as joining orchestras. Catherine has even attended some orchestral rehearsals with my daughter which is over and above what any other teacher might be prepared to do! She has helped my daughter prepare for her GCSE music ensemble piece and has played alongside her, accompanying her on the bassoon at her secondary school. She has also been invaluable in helping us find a suitable instrument for my daughter to learn on. Catherine started teaching my daughter the bassoon approx. one year ago. At the time she could only play very simple melodies using 3 notes. Within a year, my daughter was able to take her grade 5 bassoon and got a distinction. I fully recommend Catherine as a bassoon teacher.
