Information About Rebecca - Haringey teacher

Personal Description:

Hello!

I am a 27 year old Australian Musician, and have recently graduated from Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a masters on Bassoon Performance. I have a passion for both teaching and playing the Bassoon and flute, and believe in creating a positive and exciting environment for students. I have 8 years experience as a flute and Bassoon tutor across multiple schools in Sydney, and have recently begun teaching in London since September to students ranging from 4-16 years old!

I have also work as a freelance bassoonist in London, and have worked within several Australian orchestras and chamber groups, such as the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

Tutoring Experience:

My teaching experience is extensive, especially for my age. I have worked for 6 years as a Flute and Bassoon teacher within the eastern suburbs of Sydney, teaching students between the age of 6-24. I have mainly worked 1:1 with students, however have had lots of experience with groups up to 40 students across many instruments. I have put many students through practical musical exams and highly encourage them if desired. Since completing my studies in London, I have been working as a bassoon and musicianship teacher.

Tutoring Approach:

As I am currently a performer, teacher and student myself, I am very aware of the balance between hard work and having fun. I believe the best way to create a successful musical journey is through a positive and encouraging environment, where students can develop their skills and take risks without fear! I also take highly into account the individuality of students and their desires, so make sure to adjust my approach as suited.
