Personal Description:
My passion for music led me to complete a degree at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama studying the bassoon. Alongside my principal study I play the flute to grade 8 standard and have developed strong piano and music theory skills. As well as teaching, I regularly perform with bands and orchestras here in the U.K and abroad.
Tutoring Experience:
Alongside being a primary school music teacher I have been a peripatetic instrumental tutor for nine years. I have experience of teaching both children and adults from beginner up to grade 8. I am familiar with the ABRSM syllabus as well as the GCSE music requirements and have frequently helped to prepare students for these exams with a 100% pass rate.
Tutoring Approach:
I teach music to students of all ages and abilities. I believe that learning to play an instrument should be fun and for every student to succeed, they need to enjoy what it is they’re learning - whether that’s mastering a favourite tune or working towards Grade 8.
