I have been tutoring since 2004 and have gained extensive experience and knowledge of the curriculum. I am familiar with all the boards for A level Chemistry, having taught Edexcel, AQA, OCR A and B. I have also taught IB Higher Chemistry as well as GCSE Chemistry and Physics.

Tutoring Experience

I have about 20 years of private tuition experience with particular expertise in the following:

• AS /A2 level Chemistry: all exam boards and IB Higher Chemistry ( including international students )
• GCSE Chemistry

I can tutor on 'zoom' , or face to face if local.

Tutoring Approach

I explain a topic to a student, giving them key points to note down in order to enable them to answer questions. Then I get the student to try past paper questions or questions from text books, guiding them through difficulties they face. I check their understanding of the subject matter by asking questions and setting homework on the topic studied. Nearer to the exam we use the mark scheme as a guide to answering past paper questions to ensure students use the key words successfully for their specific exam board.

Online tuition has been be available using zoom, since the pandemic.
