Personal Description:

CRB & SC CLEARED! I am a 25 year old software engineer with an IT Degree (currently awaiting review to add to my profile), 3-A-Levels and 12 GCSEs. I have 4 years experience in tutoring students up to a GCSE level in Maths and a working knowledge of Computer Science including Python.

All my feedback is on the FirstTutors Academic site if you wish to review my feedback as this account will currently be empty.

I am good with people of all ages, dedicated and punctual.
I am only offering Maths tutoring up to GCSE level and beginner Python tutoring at this time.

I am taking on a limited number of students as I work full-time and prefer to provide a good service to my students. I can travel to you, take online students or you can come to me.

There may be a travel fee depending on travel time but unfortunately I will not be taking on any students with travel time over 20 minutes unless you wish to travel to me.

Training Experience:

I currently have 4 years of tutoring experience with students of a range of ages, teaching a range of subjects. I've taught over 30 students across that time and continue to help educate my colleagues in my day job as a software manger.

Training Approach:

I have found people learn better from someone from whom they can relate to. I am 25, love cars, gaming, movies and TV and this puts me at an advantage as I love to find relatable ways to explain issues to students, such as using their favourite game or characters.

I believe that when tutoring my approach shouldn't be a single approach but dynamic based on the student, their age, the subject and their level of expertise in the subject matter. Everyone is different, has different goals and requires different levels of support.

I'm sorry you were not satisfied with my tutoring services. I can assure you I done the best I could for your daughter. She expressed that she enjoyed our lessons during our time and learnt at least one or more topics well every lesson so If you could let me know what else I could've done to support your daughter I would appreciate it.

In regards to leaving, I tutored your daughter on a Saturday when I had 3-5 other tutees every week so every lesson was kept to 55 minutes giving me 5 minutes to talk to you and/or your husband to tell you what we had done, what she can work on and what we will do next week. This is how I work with every tutee to ensure that I can get to my next client on time and is no way a reflection on you or your home.

You seemed happy with my services at the time, never expressing any concern or problems. You have left feedback 7 months after we ceased tutoring so I am wondering if this feedback is actually intended for another tutor? If not, I apologise for not meeting your expectations.

He is very calm and patient with our daughter who needs a lot of support. Our daughter feels comfortable to ask questions and has found the sessions really helpful. As parents we feel confident that his teaching approach is well matched to our daughters needs and we would highly recommend him as a tutor.

From Tracy (5/5): Although my son has only had 3 sessions with Liam, he really likes the way Liam teaches - explaining things as simply as possible. So far so good!!

From Tony (5/5): Liam has very quickly developed a rapport with Simon and identified areas where help is needed.
He is young for a tutor but we felt that Simon might react well to someone nearer to his age, with the knowledge to explain things in a way that he can relate to - Liam has the confidence and ability to do this.
He is organised and has the quiet authority to ensure that his time is productive.
I would recommend Liam without reservation.
