each tutee's learning. I will focus on whichever areas you are struggling in, whether it be a specific topic, or type of exam question that you have difficulties with. I will go over your notes with you, explain any unclear areas and provide exam style questions for you to complete, which I will then mark and provide you with feedback. This will help boost your confidence and highlight any weak areas we need to cover....

PGCE: Primary Education (2001)
6. I have tutored my own children at various times, and have tutored privately. I try to make the pupil as relaxed as possible to aid learning. I also aim to make the session fun, as children learn without even realising it. I have bags of patience and explain concepts clearly in simple steps.Initially, I will give the pupil some work to find out the areas that need reinforcing, and then concentrate on those areas....

and adaptable in finding new and appropriate ways to get the required results for each individual. I regularly ask for detailed feedback on my own performance as an educator, and on the students' experience as learners in order to fine-tune my activities to optimise outcomes. I "do my homework" each week, too! I am also happy to be available (as appropriate) for telephone, e-mail, or e-conferencing consultations between face-to-face sessions to facilitate the learning experience....

Bridgend and have 6 years experience tutoring both English and English Literature. I worked as an undergraduate tutor at Cardiff University (teaching/examining modules for the BA English Literature degree). I am also an examiner for the WJEC for GCSE and AS Level. Each tutee has a unique learning style and so I adapt the way in which I tutor to suit each individual: I believe that constant feedback and discussion is key to effective tutoring....
History this is 90%. I have also taught GCSE English and GCSE and A Level Media Studies, where my results were excellent. I also have experience of teaching BTEC/GCSE Health and Social Care. I like to tailor my sessions to the individual, and to make them interactive. I think that it is important to use plenty of focus on examination technique at GCSE and A Level so that students are well prepared for their examinations....

important it is to understand how each of my students prefers to learn. Whether that be by reading over information or taking a more hands-on approach to a subject. During my third year exams I explored many different ways to take information in; including hot potato catch! My approach to tutoring depends on the tutee. In my eyes as long as my students are enjoying my session and learning, then I am running successful sessions....

to achieve the most out of it. I am patient and understanding, which I hope will make my tutees feel comfortable and at ease to ask questions. I believe anyone and everyone can improve with a little time and hard work. There's no such thing as a stupid question in my view, and I would encourage my tutees to ask as many questions as they want in order to get the best from their learning....

Bachelors: BA (Hons) in Music – Upper Second-Class Honours / 2:1 (2016)
was required to take credits in a different subject as part of my degree. Therefore, I would be more than happy to provide some support and help as far as A Level English Language, and with more general issues such as essay structuring. (As a heads up, I wouldn't like to help with something like A Level English Language & Literature Combined - as far as I know, it's considerably different from what I studied!)...

Bachelors: French and Business Studies with Hons (1983)
of reasons, I see it as my job to repair this damage and give students back their self-esteem and self-respect. From this we can build and build until they reach a much more positive mindset and the learning becomes second nature. It is important to me that both my tutees and their parents/guardians feel that they can question me at any time about any aspect of their learning, and I welcome feedback at all times....
