Personal Description:

I am a qualified teacher (PGCE) and law graduate, with considerable experience in teaching (having also had other employments outside education), who enjoys very much schooling and I have a great passion for the social sciences in general and law in particular.
Besides having taught law in secondary schools and colleges, I have also lectured (twice) to students on a European Environmental Law on a Master course. I have also reviewed AS Law text-books. At present I am teaching Law and Politics in a sector leading sixth-form college.

Training Specialisms:

I have taught mostly in colleges (A levels) but also in primary (a little bit) and secondary (much more) schools and on a couple of university courses (undergraduate ad post-graduate). I started teaching in the nineties and I am constantly studying new courses and keep my knowledge up to date. I also have experience of giving private tuitions and teaching on a one to one basis.
I am a specialist in European Affairs and European Law, keeping up to date with current issues and, I keenly research news to keep up to date with current developments in the EU and European countries.
During my Masters course in Environmental Studies, I chose a legal subject for my 16,000 words thesis (i.e. European Environmental Law), combining the two interests and raising my Law skills to Masters level.

Training Methods:

In a one to one lesson, I target my teaching style to what is required and wanted by the client. In general I try to make the learning quite interactive and use a variety of teaching material and activities. Most of the resources I use are own devised and targeted to that particular student. The lessons tend to result interesting because the theory is shown in practice; during the lesson there are continuous references to daily life and occasions during which to confront the drawbacks of certain policies.
