Personal Description:

An enthusiastic and supportive tutor who is completely aware of the very latest GCSE and A Level Chemistry syllabus.

Past Experience:

Over 800 Hours of tuition experience at schools, privately with families and over Skype. I tend to work with families over a long period of time and right up until their completely exam ready. References for any listed experience is available.

I have worked with all the major examination boards, some more familiar then the others including: Edexcel, AQA, OCR, CIE, WJEC, OCR MEI

As well as working with GCSE Students I am also experienced in teaching entrance examination syllabus for 13+ and 11+ science and have successfully worked with children aiming to get into Eton on scholarship (kings scholarship) but am familiar with the content of other boards, largely ISEB.

I have worked as a `super tutor` teaching math and the sciences at an community college with children that in groups of 4 and 2 from ages 15 to 12 for the past year. I have received great feedback after every term, with my colleagues pestering me to take on more children because they recognise how great tuition can really be for a student to have all the attention on him or her!

I have worked at a children's hospice with children that have life limiting/threatening illnesses as family activities volunteer, and have completed health and safeguarding modules and therefore I have an 'enhanced' DBS Check' to hand which is available on request.

I always find that my students are always much more confident, when they had started with me well prior to their GCSE exams so we can start filling in the cracks as eagerly as possible, remember its also super important to get those good results for year 9 so your choice of study for GCSE Options will not be restricted when you come to choose.

Tutoring Experience:

Whether your child is working at a higher or lower ability I am completely confident with my skills to motivate and deliver wonderful tuition sessions based on your child`s specific understanding of the subject matter. Repeatedly have I seen students achieve well over his or her academic potential and once you open that brown envelope you'll know it was all worth it.

Tutoring Approach:

I have many different approaches to the way I deliver tuition which is hugely dependent on the tutee, but this way of learning has proved to be most successful:

1. We go through the topic content.
2. I will send you questions/revision resources so you can review how much you've learned in our previous session and ask me anything your having difficulty with in the next session. This will also give me a chance to mark your progress and identify any areas of weakness as well as provide the tutee with the experience of independence and self progression.
3. I will go through and answer any questions you have related to the homework and help you along if you are struggling with anything before moving on to new topic content.

Generally, its always a good idea to do as many past papers as possible through the week and then usually my tutees will have them all ready for me to mark by Sunday. This service is of course completely included within the price for tuition.
I often do set homework tasks during the week as mentioned, so students can consolidate what they learnt in the previous lesson. My lesson schedule is to some extent flexible so I am happy to deviate here and there on some occasions for any 'impossible' homework or other reasons.

Hope to be seeing you soon,
Zen.
