An enthusiastic and highly recommended tutor who is completely aware of the very latest GCSE and A Level syllabuses. Currently a Medical Student.
Over 800 Hours of tuition experience at schools, privately with families and over Skype. I tend to work with families over a long period of time and right up until their completely exam ready. References for any listed experience is available. Currently reading Medicine at the University of East Anglia and can also provide help with medical interviews and personal statement writing.
I have worked with all the major examination boards, some more familiar then the others including: Edexcel, AQA, OCR, CIE, WJEC, OCR MEI
As well as working with GCSE Students I am also experienced in teaching entrance examination syllabus for 13+ and 11+ science and have successfully worked with children aiming to get into Eton on scholarship (kings scholarship) but am familiar with the content of other boards, largely ISEB.
I have worked as a 'super tutor' teaching math and the sciences at an community college with children in groups of 4 and 2 from ages 15 to 12 for the past year. I have received great feedback after every term, with my colleagues pestering me to take on more children because they recognise how great tuition can really be for a student to have all the attention on him or her!
I have worked at a children's hospice with children that have life limiting/threatening illnesses as family activities volunteer, and have completed health and safeguarding modules and therefore I have an 'enhanced' DBS Check' to hand which is available on request.
Whether your child is working at a higher or lower ability I am completely confident with my skills to motivate and deliver wonderful tuition sessions based on your child's specific understanding of the subject matter. Repeatedly have I seen all of my students achieve well over his or her academic potential and your child will be no different.
I have many different approaches to the way I deliver tuition which is hugely dependent on the tutee.
For all of my GCSE and AS/A Level Students practicing from previously examined questions using my personalised homework is often an extremely successful system I employ. I also get my students to complete loads of general past paper questions packs in between sessions to keep them on their toes throughout the week. I always encourage them to contact me if they get stuck and persevere rather then skipping as doing this in national exams could be life altering.
For KS2 and KS3 my junior personalised** homework tasks during the week are key to ensure any misunderstandings are completely squashed prior to moving on. This also allows students to consolidate what they learned in the previous lesson.
Hope to be seeing you soon,
