I am an Undergraduate Medical Student, at Ovidius University, who is willing to go the extra mile to help students excel and support them throughout their studies in order to achieve top grades. As an individual with a strong academic background, I can confidently claim to have achieved grades A-A* across all of my subjects at GCSE level and hope to share my knowledge in order to help others succeed and reach their goals. I have five years of experience in teaching and possess an up to date enhanced DBS certificate.

Tutoring Experience

I have a wealth load of experience in teaching for just over five years, ranging from one-to-one tutoring for GCSEs to intensive revision sessions which has proven to significantly improve the results of my students. The main subjects I tutor are the Sciences from primary level up to GCSE level. I also currently tutor students on my undergraduate medicine course on a regular basis. As an individual who has had offers from top UK universities for studying Medicine, I have inside experience of the application procedure and entrance exams, for which I am willing to provide thorough information to prospective students. This can include sharing precious resources and arranging tailored mentoring sessions for personal statements, entrance exams and interview preparation, as well as guidance on the desired type of work experience required for an application for medicine.

Tutoring Approach

As a punctual and well organised individual, I have a structured approach to my teaching lessons. By identifying the strengths and weaknesses in knowledge, I tailor my lessons to match the needs of my student(s) with interactive strategies which will in turn help them engage better with the content and further develop their understanding of the subject. I aim to make students view learning as a fun process instead of a chore, as this positive mindset will have a huge impact on their capabilities. Above all, I have a passion for my subjects and am more than happy to share my knowledge to benefit others. I am willing provide with one-to-one support to help my students succeed. As an active listener with exceptional communication skills, I will provide my students with constructive feedback and address any areas of improvement at the end of a tutoring session, in order to bridge any knowledge gaps. By utilising a variety of teaching strategies and sharing useful study tips and important resources, I hope to demonstrate a strong improvement in results.

Generally my sessions will comprise the following:
- teaching complex concepts from different view points
- teaching new content or any topics the tutee is not confident in.
- recapping preciously learned information
- Exam tips and strategies
- Approaching exam-style questions (I have many resources to share for this).
- Constructive feedback and support on areas for improvement - with pre-reading tasks and homework being assigned for the next session.
