English (Foreign Language)
Hello, my name is Yasmin and I am a freelance English language tutor in South London/Surrey.
I am naturally a warm, charismatic and friendly person with strong communication skills.
I am mixed Asian British, I was born in London and I work for an English language school. I strive for satisfaction from my students and like to keep them motivated also.
In 2013 I travelled around Asia - China, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Hong Kong and I came back with so much experience of different cultures and nationalities and I'm so lucky to have had this experience. I also taught English to just under 1000 Chinese students - I loved it so much that I decided tutor instead. This is now a major passion of mine.
I am CELTA qualified and also have the TEFL qualification. I have taught English in two other foreign language schools in England and am now tutoring one to one.
In my spare time, I ice skate, cycle, swim, keep fit, travel and spend lots of time with my friends and family.
I have been TEFL/CELTA qualified for 4 years.

They all had different reasons for wanting to learn English whether it was for study, living or for their job. I adapted course material to suit my students interests and made sure lessons focused on real life aspects. I mainly taught Grammar, fluency, pronunciation, speaking, listening and writing skills.
I taught mainly speaking, fluency and accuracy to Chinese school students. I created my own activities and used exercise and fitness to keep my students happy and entertained while learning at the same time. I assessed my students and made lessons to suit their needs. I made lessons interactive and social by playing games.
I love teaching English, it is my passion to help students progress. I am calm, approachable and friendly yet I am focused on achieving success for my students.
I assess my students to make sure there is structure to their learning and focus activities on their interests. I like to work with games as well as lesson plans.
I find teaching very rewarding and like to develop a good rapport with all my students. I like to use a range of course books plus my own material to make sure lessons are different and varied.
