I am a qualified secondary school teacher with a first-class degree in French and Latin from the University of Oxford. I specialise in GCSE French, GCSE Latin and teaching exam technique. I also have experience of tutoring pupils for Common Entrance (13+). I am known for my patience, enthusiasm and getting results. I also hold a current DBS check.
I am a qualified secondary school teacher (QTS) and have taught French and Spanish up to International Baccalaureate (IB) level (A level equivalent). I taught for two years in a South East London secondary school. While there I achieved the best results in the department for both GCSE and IB in my first year of teaching and the best results in the department in IB in the second year. I have also taught English as a foreign language in France to students aged 15-20.
I believe patience and enjoyment are key to learning a language. I combine an enthusiastic attitude with considerable patience. I like to tailor my approach to each student's ability level and their learning style (whether visual, auditory or 'kinaesthetic' or a mix of all three). I am experienced in training students for examinations and teach exam technique as well as content.
