I can help your child get the best possible results they can. I am a passionate and committed teacher of English who loves to see my students flourish. I have a wealth of experience getting students the grades they need to be successful in a short time and I love to see students learn and thrive. I can deliver a bespoke program to your child to help them get over the line and secure their college or University places. I have been a head of English and currently work on the SLT team at a school on the south coast. I am flexible, adaptable and have a wealth of experience working with all kinds of learners. I have a particular interest in developing literacy skills so I can be of support to students who struggle with reading or who might need support with basic literacy.

Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience working with students of secondary school age. I have taught Key Stage Three (Year 7-9) as well as students studying for GCSE both Edexcel, AQA and Eduquas boards. My previous results have been excellent and I have been able to secure a 100% pass rate for the students I have tutored to achieve Grade 4+ at GCSE level. Students requesting support with GCSE exams will receive regular feedback on work completed with a free service to mark any practice exam papers. I have been a marker for GCSE papers for the last 6 years and have an extensive understanding of what is required to secure those all important pass rates.

I have also taught A Level Literature and Language and have a wealth of experience and deep subject knowledge which enables me to support students across a range of abilities. I have taught the Edexcel board but have the ability to teach across multiple boards where required.

Tutoring Approach

I am always pro-active in meeting the students where they are. I am able to understand the specific needs of the students and work with them to hone the skills they need to secure the best results possible. My sessions will be lively, energetic and relentlessly positive. I am always happy to check homework or past papers and more than happy to speak with your child/your teacher directly to build up a picture of what you need to work on most. I am always supportive and encouraging and hope to pass on some of my enthusiasm for English onto my pupils.
