Hello! I'm a friendly, approachable graduate with a flexible, patient but rigorous approach to tutoring. I have a First from Oxford in History & Politics as well as a Distinction in my Graduate Diploma in Law. I've spent the last few years working with refugees in Europe and the UK, and I'm pursuing another Masters and PhD in International Law at Cambridge before becoming a barrister.

I've developed a good, tried-and-tested skillset when it comes to studying a variety of challenging subjects at many levels - I'm always eager to share what I've learnt and help students of all ages achieve their best, work hard, and build their self-confidence.

Tutoring Experience

I've tutored students at both GCSE and A-Level for the past 7 years. Many pupils I've taught have been long-term students, and it's been a real pleasure to see them achieve high grades and go on to their first choice universities.

I've also worked extensively with young people from a broad range of backgrounds. I was lucky enough to be chosen as a Jacari mentor during my time at Oxford. I taught English as a foreign language to children in newly settled families, helping them integrate into the UK school system as well as helping their parents with their own language skills.

In addition, I'm trained as a DebateMate mentor, reaching out to children from economic areas and backgrounds that don't get the opportunities they deserve to go further in life, through summer debating programmes and debating workshops held in schools across London.

I've learnt a huge amount from both these experiences; I know how important it is to adapt to a child's individual needs, understand their individual struggles, and build a rapport that encourages self-belief and trust in their own strengths. I believe strongly in making sure all children have the support they need to do well in life, regardless of their circumstances.

For Oxbridge applicants: I can also help students prepare for interviews, subject tests and with their personal statements.

I also offer a full copy editing and proofreading service for essays and major assignments, including coursework and dissertations.

Tutoring Approach

For me, organisation, routine, practice, and technique are key, regardless of subject. I work with my students to identify their strengths and weaknesses, drawing up a plan that helps both me and my tutee track their progress and identify any areas requiring extra attention.

I use the Oxford tutorial system - a one-to-one guided approach that deepens a pupil's understanding of the syllabus and shows them how to apply their knowledge, breaking down complicated ideas into step-by-step, easily understandable chunks.

No question is too silly or simple (we all started somewhere!), and I try and encourage my students to remain curious, engaged, and enjoy what they're learning. This provides a solid foundation for developing their exam techniques later on.

Children so often lack the confidence to do well in a subject because they think they aren't good at it, or because it isn't immediately interesting. I do my best to instil passion and ensure that they believe that they are capable; that many times, achieving good grades involves understanding what your teachers or exam boards would like you to demonstrate, and that being able to do this is just a matter of practice.

I'm available for my students via text / whatsapp / etc outside tuition hours if they have questions or require assistance. Many previous students remain in touch, which is wonderful - I enjoy being as helpful a resource as I can, and I am always happy to provide a little advice if needed.
