I am a parent myself and have experienced the gamut of issues from learning differences to oxbridge/Russell group success so whatever you present me with I have celebrated or wept over personally. That informs my work very deeply as I am aware of all the reasons you may have for seeking tuition. I seek to teach by example and confidence- building and often stay with a family for years if there are several children or several academic levels to achieve-my longest engagement to date is gcse to masters with an autistic student, shortly beginning PhD. I am multi- skilled and adaptable.

Tutoring Experience

20 + years of private tuition, several years recently of undergraduate learning support- professional status pending. I work equally successfully and very happily with high- fliers, improvers and learning difference students. This is because I evaluate and tutor each student according to their own needs and not a one size fits all method. This is not comparable to any school experience but is bespoke and personal. You share your strengths, weaknesses and goals with me and we work to achieve them.

Tutoring Approach

Holistic, I evaluate the student thoroughly and work with them to achieve their aims, always adapted to their personal learning preferences. No matter the reason for choosing tuition I always aim to make learning relaxed and enjoyable- it does not need to be painful! I encourage parents/carers to be involved, whether popping in during the session, listening in, or asking for advice on helping the process achieve success. For students with learning differences I am happy to leave tasks for parents to carry out between sessions and thereby pay for fewer lessons and speed up progress.
