My aim is to raise the confidence of each of my pupils and help them harness their true potential through fun, well structured and personalised lessons. I like to 'think outside the box' and always look for different ways to put my ideas and lessons across. I am a semi-professional singer and enjoy writing, often using poetry as a way of encouraging young people to harness their own creative talents.
I am flexible so that I will travel to your home to tutor, I will tutor at home and I do offer Skype tutoring if distance is a problem.
I am an experienced tutor of Primary age children who enjoys encouraging children to achieve their true potential and am experienced in helping children who find learning in the traditional school environment challenging. I have several years of experience aiding students in their preparation for Entrance and Secondary School Examinations in addition to four years experience in Music tuition at Primary Level.
I am also an experienced teacher of English as a Foreign Language. For GCSE students I expand their knowledge of a subject and nurture a concise, organised approach to their work, encouraging enjoyment of their subjects
Lessons are tailored to the requirements and learning styles (visual/auditory) of each student. When teaching I encourage my students to make links between their subjects and I use poetry as a medium for encouraging children to tap into and enjoy their creative abilities. Often this involves taking inspiration from the environment around them. I put pupils at ease and create productive and enjoyable learning environments. I continuously use challenge and praise to encourage pupils to believe in their abilities and expand their knowledge. I also offer revision and examination advice to ensure success.
