Trish

I am a highly motivated and dedicated primary school teacher with 20+ years of experience in British state, Private and International schools. Having worked across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2 throughout my career, I enjoy them all! I currently work part-time as a Key Stage 2 teacher in a local primary school and as a Swimming Teacher. I live with my partner and I’m mum to a curious, loving and energetic seven year old son.

Tutoring Experience

My teaching and tutoring experience is vast and varied; spanning 20+ years and several countries. I have worked across EYFS, Key Stage 1 & 2 during this time. I have experience of teaching intervention groups for Years 2 and 6 in preparation for SATs both in London and Suffolk schools. In Italy, I helped adult learners to converse, read and write in English. I also helped Italian children to boost their English language skills, writing and maths. I continued to tutor in Mexico and since my return to the UK, I have supported dozens of children to achieve their academic goals such as passing their 11+ entrance exams for Ipswich and Woodbridge Preparatory Schools, prepare for Year 6 SATs and gain more confidence in specific curriculum areas. Many families come to me for help when their child needs one-to-one with a compassionate, patient and friendly teacher who will help boost their self-esteem, develop confidence in their abilities and offers a safe space in which to ask questions and make mistakes.

Tutoring Approach

In our first meeting, I assess where your child is at in their learning and map out where they would like to be. When we meet for tutoring sessions, I will have planned for the areas to be focused on and will provide a mixture of fun, engaging activities to help develop confidence, support learning in school or prepare for the 11+ entrance exam. I will offer kind, thoughtful and encouraging feedback; sometimes finishing with a little task to take away for practice.
