I have taught for 35 years in North and East London, in secondary schools and sixth form colleges - a range of subjects but specialising in Physics and Maths. I specialise in A level Physics but I am happy to teach GCSE Physics and GCSE Maths. My main strength is that I have spent years as an examiner and have a good understanding of exam technique. I develop a good rapport with my students which is the most important element in tutoring. As I am recently retired from full-time teaching I have more time to focus on my individual tutees whilst still being well-versed in the current Physics curriculum.

Teaching A-level Physics and GCSE Science in sixth form colleges in East London since 1998.
Head of Science for 12 years. Training physics teachers in S.E. Asia for 7 years.
Examiner for OCR and Edexcel since 2015.
Running training courses for Physics teachers.

Tutoring Approach

I am very focused on developing skills and knowledge to improve exam performance. I work with all ability levels and adapt my style to the level of the student. I was teaching on-line through Zoom during the pandemic where are I focused on students catching up with work for their final exams next year. I am happy to do a mixture of online and face-to-face as required as both methods have their strengths.
