English (Foreign Language) Lessons in Oxford

Greetings. I offer lessons in English as a Foreign Language. I've been working or training as a teacher since 2004 in various capacities, and I started teaching EFL in 2019. In the past year I've gained considerable experience working in language colleges, and have also just undergone teacher training to teach EFL professionally. I am bilingual in French, with a good knowledge of Spanish, and have excellent general linguistic communicative abilities. I'm a family man, a musician and composer, and I write novels in my spare time.

Tutoring Experience

I've just completed my Trinity CertTESOL teacher training course at Language Training and Development in Witney with teaching practice in a secondary grammar school in Hungary. I've worked at Kings Education, Oxford, and Berlitz Languages Oxford, both private international language schools. I've tutored EFL privately, and for many years have also been a Piano and and Music Tutor. I was Cover Supervisor at Gillotts School in Henley-On-Thames; General Supply Teacher for Simply Education, working in secondary schools throughout Oxfordshire; Teacher of Music and RE - also Critical Thinking and General Studies - at Sir John Cass Secondary School in London, with teaching practice in the Convent of Jesus and Mary Language College in Harlesden. I've helped students with several academic subjects including Music, Maths, Science, French and English.

Tutoring Approach

After a diagnostic interview, I will recommend a suitable coursebook to use as a reference point in our lessons, from which I may select and adapt relevant material to suit the learner's needs. I will also complement the materials as necessary. We will focus on the four language skills: reading and understanding, listening, writing and speaking. The objective is to improve communicative ability. I will aim throughout to improve the learner's articulation and pronunciation, and help develop a solid grammatical understanding.
