I am the Lead Science Teacher at a Private Independent School in Bath and have been teaching a variety of classes for the previous three years at both GCSE and A Level. I also operate as a private tutor for online, incall and outcall clients and have successfully tutored dozens of satisfied students to the very highest available grades.
I have sat nearly 60 exams all the way through from the 11+ to postgraduate level! As such I am well very well versed in the exam process' I am happy to tutor on a variety of subjects to GCSE level and Biology to A-level.
I hold a Distinction-level Master's degree from the highly prestigious Imperial College in Science Communication and am also a recipient of an honours-level BSc in Molecular Biology from the same university.
I have had several tutoring roles from entrance exams, through GCSEs and up to undergraduate level. This has allowed me to understand that tutoring is not just an exercise in rote learning, but also in installing confidence in the tutee so that they might tackle an exam with much more certainty. Currently I am a staff tutor at the highly regarded Bath Academy, offering a bespoke service for students helping them to achieve the very best grades. Many of my pupils have gone on to achieve A*s and are now studying at top Russell Group universities.
As a child I had a number of tutors and I believe that I would not have been nearly as academically minded had it not been for their input and guidance. Tutoring allowed me to look at exams as opportunities, rather than potential bear-traps. This is a mentality I try to install in all of my tutees.
If you don't get along with your tutor it's unlikely that anything productive is going to be achieved. I try to approach tutees as easy-going and patient, with the understanding that in some cases students need a gentle push to succeed. I am extremely committed to my students and try my upmost to get the grades I think can be achieved.
