Information About Therese - Bromsgrove tutor
This is how 3 referees rated Therese:
I live in Bromsgrove and have three grown up children. I retired in August 2018 from a career in teaching that spanned three decades but I am still passionate about my subject. I'm well qualified and have a track record of English teaching excellence.
I am also a three-times published novelist, with full traditional publishing contracts and will be pursuing my writing career in my retirement.
I am a recently retired Head of English. I was Head of English in a high performing Secondary State School for 6 years and in a Sixth Form College for 12 years. I have been an English teacher for around 30 years in total. For the last 12 years, therefore, I have taught English A Level Language, Literature, and Language and Literature combined courses, as well as GCSE Language (including the new, linear spec) and Literature.
I also have significant experience as a one to one tutor for GCSE and A Level students.
Friendly, respectful and supportive:Exam/coursework and skills focussed, eg, the crafting of arguments, evaluation of key aspects of text in order to address specific question requirements; integration of correct terminology to enhance analysis; accuracy of expression.
I am also very happy to foster creativity and help students to develop creative writing skills, whether for fiction or non-fiction examination or coursework tasks.
