Hello! I'm Teuta, an arts educator with a background in theatre. I graduated with a First Class degree in Education, English and Drama from the University of Cambridge, and have taught both in the UK independent system and internationally. I'm currently undertaking a Primary PGCE in London.
My prior teaching experience is varied: I previously worked as teaching assistant in English Literature and taught Drama at an independent secondary school in Bath, managing classes of KS3 learners and running school productions.
My degree in Education, English and Drama at the University of Cambridge also means I have a strong grounding in educational theory that informs my teaching practice, alongside my expertise in English and Drama.
I've taught students about the works of William Shakespeare on international theatre tours, running workshops for 4-23 year olds in Florida, Belgium, Switzerland, Pennsylvania, France and The Cayman Islands. I absolutely love teaching a variety of students, meeting them with energy and getting them enthused about literature.
I have further coached a number of students through Oxbridge applications and recently been working with groups of Chinese students to improve their language skills and cultural knowledge
Although I have a very strong theoretical knowledge in English literature I try to take texts and learning from a modern stand point. I want to make sure that the learning feels relevant, so I try and engage students on their own terms. I really take care to understand students and build trust, tailoring each session to their individual needs. I am keen to build a good relationship with my tutees, in which the session can slowly become a conversation as they contribute and share. I take teaching very seriously and put a great deal of thought into every lesson.
