I am a qualified English Language and Literature teacher with over 20 years of classroom experience and 4 years of private tutoring. Recently retired from full-time teaching to focus solely on private tuition.

I have extensive expertise with AQA, Eduqas, Edexcel and OCR syllabus Marking for AQA and Edexcel has contributed to a excellent pass rate.

I specialise in SATs, 11+, and GCSE English and hold additional qualifications in SEN and ESOL. I also have experience in teaching primary maths and English. I provide both online lesson via zoom and face-to-face tuition at my home (Hereford).

Tutoring Experience

Throughout my career, I have taught a broad selection of Literature texts with a consistently high success rate. My experience encompasses works such as Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, The Sign of the Four, A Christmas Carol, Blood Brothers, Lord of the Flies, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and Romeo and Juliet.

I maintain current DBS certification, safeguarding and mental health qualifications, and have completed a counselling course.

I implement regular formative assessments and assign homework to facilitate progress monitoring and sustained motivation. I firmly believe that a robust educational foundation opens diverse opportunities for future advancement.
