Hello, I am a fully qualified and very experienced professional science and maths teacher and tutor. I understand that leaning one-to-one can be daunting for some students but you will find me friendly, patient and effective. I have a strong academic background (Master of Science with Distinction and Bachelor of Science with Honours) and from my many years in teaching a deep understanding of science and maths and how students can misunderstand key areas. I am also an examiner which means that I mark real GCSE papers for a major exam board. These strengths together with my excellent tried and tested teaching skills have been very successful in allowing me to tutor young people and help them improve their grades at KS3, GCSE and A level.
I am a fully qualified and enthusiastic teacher with nearly 10 years experience as a classroom teacher. I have taught in several different schools and across all secondary Key Stages, from KS3 through GCSE up to and including A level. I am an experienced tutor who has helped students make significant progress and improve their grades.
Science and Maths are fun, and learning them should be engaging and interesting too. When tutoring, I seeks to uncover a student's weaknesses and then help them to improve whilst enjoying the process of learning.
Being a professional teacher means that I have a deep understanding of:
* The subject.
* Specifically what needs to be learnt for your exam (the specification).
* Different teaching and learning techniques to help young people learn.
Many tutors are not qualified teachers and cannot provide ALL of the above - there is a big difference between understanding the subject and being able to teach it effectively...
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, whether you choose me as your tutor or not I wish you good luck !
