Hello, I am Steph and am very passionate about Mathematics and Education. I studied Maths at A-level and degree level, further I have a PGCE in Mathematics 11-18. I went into teaching to support children to achieve the best they can but I feel it is through tutoring where I can spend the time to really support each individual student.
Teaching has been my aspiration since the age of 15. From this point I have volunteered in various schools supporting individual students. After I complete my undergraduate degree I started my teacher training. I experienced working in both a Grammar school and Comprehensive schools. I have had experience teaching from year 7 all the way up to sixth form. During my time teaching I took on a small class of year 11's to give them the best chance of passing their GCSE and spent my lunch breaks supporting individual year 11 students before their exam.
Every student is different and has their own style of learning. I believe it is best to embrace this to develop a students understanding of each topic. I will work with the student to focus on the areas they find most challenging. Exam preparation is essential, I will spend time supporting the student to develop their exam technique to help them achieve their potential.
