I am an English graduate and have been teaching for the past 11 years. I am passionate about not only my specialist subject but also history, politics, art and film and I find this goes a long way in helping students access the AQA English Language paper.
I challenge students to achieve their full potential but am also patient and supportive.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in a high performing secondary school for the past 10 years and have also marked for the AQA exam board for the English literature and language exams. In addition to this I am also the intervention lead in my department and have a track record of outstanding teaching. All students I have tutored have achieved grades 7-9.

Tutoring Approach

I will tailor my approach to each individual’s need. In the case of students needing extra support, they will receive further scaffolding. In the case of more able students, they will be consistently shown how to produce grade 9 responses.
I expect all students to be willing and enthusiastic and in return students will receive continuous and constructive feedback. I have a proven track record in achieving grade 9 in both literature and language through tutoring.
