My daughter was interested in guidance for taking the DELF exam and we identified Solenne as a potential French tutor based on her experience and other reviews. It was such an excellent choice!
My daughter has really enjoyed her lessons and has decided to continue her lessons with Solenne as and when she needs support for A level French.
Solenne is very proactive, organised, supportive and also accommodating. She gives enough homework and her teaching style is very involved and enthusiastic. Her lessons are very well structured and she provides enough resources. My daughter gained a lot of confidence especially with the speaking aspect and also with improvising in the situation. I would definitely recommend Solenne to anyone that needs help with DELF exam , A level or any French preparation.

Solenne is an excellent and very professional teacher. She is highly adaptable to student needs, and prepares tailor made exercises to target the areas that need most work. Solenne has the rare skill of being able to explain complex points of grammar in an easy to follow way in both French and English. Alongside grammatical precision, Solenne helps students express themselves idiomatically by bringing real-world examples of contemporary usage into the classroom, from news articles to extracts from French literature. I have been enjoying on line french lessons with Solenne since October last year. I am an adult learner who had not studied French since doing an O level 50 years ago. I particularly wanted to work on my listening and speaking skills as in my day we never really got to try speaking the language.
I look forward to my lessons with Solenne. She is very friendly and supportive and I feel that she works really hard to help me learn. She has provided excellent learning resources and gives me homework each session which I find very useful. She gives me plenty of chance to improve my speaking through conversation whilst also ensuring that I learn new things and revise things I have long forgotten.

First of all, Solenne has fantastic work ethics: she is well-organized, responsible and responsive. Secondly, Solenne is a tutor who genuinely cares about her students' progress: she will work with you to find the best possible approach in your particular case and to set the goals that will be both challenging and achievable. Third, chances are that, should you be willing to, you will learn much more than just the French language from her. The readings Solenne assigned to my daughter and their ensuing discussions helped to broaden my daughter's horizons, as well as improving her critical thinking and ability to argue her position.

I have been learning languages for more than 20 years, and have had a dozen of native/non-native language tutors, and Solenne is by far the best tutor I’ve had (not one of!).
Solenne impressed me from the get go, she asked me in detail about my French and language learning history in general and my purpose and goal of learning French. She then gave a very professional introduction about her teaching approach and methodology for a learner learning for interest while we were still communicating through the platform. Skeptical as I was in the beginning, I went and first tried with a different tutor who had a lower charge out rate, since I am a beginner learner who is only learning for interest. After two sessions, I realized that it didn’t suit me, as there wasn’t a methodological structure to follow, and I was learning random words and phrases. I immediately reached back out to Solenne.
Since then, I’ve been learning French with Solenne for about three months now. And here’s a typical breakdown of our 1.5 hour session: we would first start by going through the mistakes I made and questions I had in the homeworks (yes she gives homework! The only way to progress), followed by a 15-20 minutes conversation in French where I try to answer and ask questions with everything I’ve learnt (along with made-up words by me lol). We would then move on to learning some new content, covering some new topics, knowledge points, listening materials, vocabulary package, grammatical/sentence structures (not all in one go!), in the end a quick recap and homework. Solenne would always be very patient with me, and encourages me to express myself in French freely even though I have doubts about sentence structures/words. I find listening particularly challenging, she would always encourage me to grasp key words first, and the essence of the content next, which largely helps me overcome my fear for listening materials. She would also takes care to note down the parts I struggle with, and would help me practice these areas through different activities, this helps me to develop a upward spiral learning pattern.
What truly makes Solenne stand out as a tutor, is her care for all her students (she calls her students as her children haha). She would listen to your needs and goals, and develops a tailored approach for each of her students to cater to everyone’s learning goal/speed. I find it astonishing that she always knows where we’ve left things off and what I’ve struggled with before. I would highly recommend Solenne to anyone who is looking to learn French and truly wish to actually being able to speak and communicate freely at the end of the day. A truly remarkable tutor!

Solenne took the challenge of teaching a younger student and has coped with it brilliantly. Solenne was the most thorough and patient teacher I could have wished for. She tutored me in French for 2 months and supported me throughout, even spending extra time with me prior to the exam. Fantastic tuition! I wanted to refresh my french as i had a gap of nearly years and skill fade had affected me alot, however after a few sessions she had helped reboot my memory on what i had learnt, Thanks alot.

Solenne is a first class tutor of whom I would STRONGLY recommend her to anyone wishing to develop their French language. Through a mixture of verbal and audio teaching methods, she has helped to developed my basic GCSE level French prior to me moving to France in June 2018. A very personable individual, she has designed an appropriate tutoring programme which is designed to test me and develop my overall confidence of the language.
