I am an organised and positive thinking person. I am friendly and outgoing. My main strength is that I am most enthusiastic about teaching and life in general. Have published papers on the Communicative Approach to teaching and learning languages.
I have been privately tutoring since I left mainstream teaching 6 years ago.
Mother Tongue: English
Languages: Fluent in Italian and French. A working knowledge of German, and Gaelic, understanding of Spanish and Portuguese.

Tutoring Experience

I left the United Nations in 1990 to teach and have worked in Italy and France in State Schools, primary, middle and superior. I have taught in Further Education Colleges and I still teach summer and Easter schools to foreign students from all over the world.
I prepare students for GCSE and A levels in English, French and Italian.
I teach EFL and ESOL adults.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in the Communicative Approach first introduced into learning in the 1980s and have written articles on same. I have not thrown out 'the old' as we cannot assume that before the 1980s no one ever learnt or spoke a new language.
