Hello
I am qualified primary teacher who moved back home to Northern Ireland last summer. I have been teaching full time in England for 6 years and I am now working as a supply teacher. My passion for teaching started whilst I was at University. I worked as a part time teaching assistant for two years and also tutored at Liverpool Language Academy. I moved to Oxford and got a teaching position on the Salaried School Direct programme. Over the years, I have built some fantastic relationships with parents, children and staff. In my most recent post, I was the Safeguarding Officer. I led assemblies on safety, growth mindset and environmentalism.
Outside school hours, I like to read, hike and attend Yoga sessions. I also run a yoga club for children on Thursday evenings.
I have worked with children with SEN and EAL and have developed excellent strategies for behaviour management. As a teacher, my role is to provide support in all areas of the primary national curriculum. I have tutored children in England and Northern Ireland and have high expectations of every child.
I will be very happy to teach in person or online. During school closure (Covid 19) I taught daily on zoom ensuring that the children in my class had support in core subjects (Maths, English and Guided Reading sessions).
I specialise in English because I believe it is a vital and fundamental element of the national framework and that children and adults should have a good grasp of English to ensure they succeed in all other aspects of life. Through working alongside outstanding teachers and attending training workshops, I have gained invaluable experience in planning and preparing creative and relevant lessons to engage and motivate the pupils. I have always encouraged a rich reading experience of stories, poems and non-fiction in the classroom and at home. In school, the team and parents have relied on me to recommend stories and know that it is a special interest. I would be very happy to offer support when choosing the appropriate books for your child.
Education is very important and I am very passionate about children's learning and development, I will provide a safe and enjoyable environment that allows all children regardless of learning needs and backgrounds to achieve their potential. I look forward to the opportunity of sharing good practice and working collaboratively with parents and new students.
