I am an enthusiastic teacher and tutor with a proven track record in delivering excellent attainment and achievement.

Currently a Depute Headteacher and previous Principal Teacher, I know SQA courses in Accounting, Admin and Business Management inside out. I am currently a Senior Marker with the SQA for Business Management, as well as a Marker for Accounts and Admin.

Tutoring Experience

Started teaching in 2010 and have experience of teaching in South Ayrshire, Glasgow City and Perth & Kinross. Very experienced in teaching Accounts (N5 and Higher), Admin and IT (N4, N5 and Higher) and Business Management (N4, N5, Higher and Advanced Higher).

I have tutored both in-person and online for 8 years, predominantly at Higher level.

Tutoring Approach

Tutoring begins with coming to a joint-understanding of where the young person is at: what have they covered? Where do they feel confident? What gaps are there?

I recommend a weekly 90min session from January onwards, with an additional session in the week of/before the exam.

Sessions begin with retrieval practice: what did we do last? Recall of previous knowledge. We will then move to a new topic/theme and immerses ourselves in this topic. The session will end with application of this knowledge to past paper style questions.
