I am currently working in a primary school teaching Y5/6 pupils. I have two grown up children and as a result I have some free time in the evening and weekends. Tutoring fits in with this really well with my current situation.
I have an enhanced DBS check certificate and can provide this if requested.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in primary schools for 31 years in a variety of roles.
I am experienced in preparing children for their key stage tests. I was the assessment lead in my most recent post and have a good understanding of the key stage tests requirements.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is to get to know the child, find out what they can do and what they struggle with. I believe it is really important that children understand the knowledge, skills and concepts they are learning and not simply learn to do things by rote. My purpose is to ensure that the knowledge and skills really stick and stay with the child.
