As a qualified and experienced primary teacher, I have taken part in school improvement projects in both Maths and English. I have implemented initiatives to raise the reading and writing levels for boys as research showed that girls were achieving higher levels in English. I believe it is important for children to enjoy reading and therefore teach English through the study of literature for all ages.
With a 2:1 degree from King's College London and an outstanding education at Henrietta Barnett School, I am passionate about teaching children and helping them to reach their full potential. I provide one to one tutoring at your home for Maths, English and the Buckinghamshire 11+ exams.
I have experience in tutoring children aged 5-13. My students have won awards at school, improved assessment scores, increased their self esteem and confidence as well as developed a love of reading.
I work in partnership with both children and parents, setting targets which work alongside their school assessments. I plan each lesson for your individual child's needs and learning style and prefer to work interactively rather than rely on worksheets.
