I have studied Maths at both Southampton and Chichester Universities. I am a fully qualified Secondary Maths teacher who has experience with teaching all levels of maths. I have excellent knowledge of the new 1-9 Maths exam requirements and can help you to prepare for the new problem solving style to the exam with confidence and ease.

I am a Mum to 2 lovely children and a wife to a writer and guitarist so life is full of noise, laughter and fun!

UPDATE - I'm looking to do holiday time sessions. If you'd be interested in intensive short courses in the school holidays please contact me. I'm happy to work with individuals or small groups in the short course.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a secondary school teacher since 2004. I have experience of teaching the full range of learning abilities and needs and can adapt my teaching to suit you individually.

I am excellent at supporting the struggling pupil to understand concepts and catch up with their peers or enabling the stronger pupil to make rapid progress through challenging them at the higher levels. I particularly love algebra and can make abstract concepts really understandable.

I have been marking GCSE exams for the board since 2018 as well so I have inside knowledge on what examiners look for when marking and will help you improve your mathematical communication.

Tutoring Approach

My aim in lessons is to make sure that is it student led at every level, covering the content and correcting those misconceptions that have stopped you from understanding in school.

I strongly believe that to be able to get the grade you desire in your exam you need to be a confident mathematician who can apply a range of skills in any context. That is why I focus on improving your confidence, making sure all of the foundations are really strong to build on and application of skills through interesting and engaging investigations and problem solving.
