I am an enthusiastic individual and passionate about the study of English Literature and Language. I am a fully qualified English teacher and have been teaching in secondary schools for over 7 years. After completing my degree in English and Drama at the University of Birmingham, I spent a short while working in the Legal Industry. I soon returned to my real interest and re-trained as a secondary school English teacher. In my free time, I enjoy attending the theatre and spend much of my free time reading a variety of fiction.
I am currently a full time English teacher at a Independent Girls school in South West London. Previously I taught at a Grammar School in Surrey. I teach across key stage 3 to 5 and have experience of the following exam specifications: AQA GCSE English Literature/ Language, AQA A-Level English Literature and Edexcel A-level English Literature. I am a fully qualified TEFL teacher and have spent time teaching English Language to international students. I have tutored a range of students for differing needs including: grammar support, improving reading and writing skills, exam preparation, and to develop confidence in the English classroom.
I care about the needs of my students and take time getting to know them. I tailor each of my sessions to the individual student and like to spend time discussing areas that they wish to focus on prior to sessions to formulate an outline.
