Hi, I’m Sarah and am an experienced teacher of Sociology. I’m thoroughly passionate about the subject and get great satisfaction from seeing my students get the same kind of buzz out of studying it. I’m a mother to 2 teenage children, and my beloved dog. I’m also a keen historian, particularly local history as well as an active member of the Fawcett Society.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching successfully for twenty three years. In that time I have worked in three institutions , two secondary schools, a large sixth form college and presently I am Head of a Social Science faculty. I am able teach across all option topics, whether that be Beliefs or Media, Family or Culture. I am also an experienced examiner and Team Leader for AQA in Sociology.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is to identify what works for the student and to devise strategies that will help them to achieve their optimum grade. Its also a two way process - I put a lot of work into preparing my lessons, I expect the student to do the same. Only if we want the same thing and can work together can we be successful.
