I have PhD in chemistry and teaching chemistry for more than 15 years now. I am an examiner at OCR and Edexcel exam boards. My teaching focus on developing better understanding of the topic and exam oriented approach leading to better grades with all my tutees.
I have an excellent track record of success. In summer 2018, all my A level students secured A grade and one with A* in chemistry, which I believe significant success through disciplined hard work along with my tutees (references from past students available on request). Some students had D/E grade at the end of the first year, scored to A grade in their A level exam with tutoring throughout the second year (I promise-No Magic). GCSE students scored 8 and 9 points.
I teach chemistry at the University and tutoring A level students. Being an examiner for A level chemistry, I know marking process and examination question style very well and prepare student to hit those "key marking points".
I take proud in tutoring one of the youngest person (six year child !!) in the UK for GCSE. Most of my students achieve A/ A* in chemistry and pursue their career in to medicine, dentistry and other professional courses.
I teach from various tutoring agencies and more testimonial/feedback available on request.
My teaching approach is flexible and tailored to student's need. I have chosen to focus on teaching only one subject- obviously, chemistry which helps me constantly improving ways of teaching the subject.
The in depth knowledge of chemistry, years of experience and passion for teaching enable me to explain complex concepts in more understandable and manageable way. All my students have one common comment- "it makes more sense when you explain"
The comprehensive knowledge of chemistry is crucial at A level, as most of the exam questions require an application of the knowledge rather than just recalling facts. My teaching develops better understanding of the topics which helps students to answer questions with confidence.
I use molecular models for relevant topics (shapes of molecules, Transition metals, Polymer, structure and bonding etc). I provide well prepared colorful mind maps and chart to help students remembering the content for longer. There will be plenty of topic-based self-prepared resources to build knowledge from basic to advanced level. I provide support between lessons by email/phone so that student don't have to wait for the next lesson to get an answer for the query.
I have enhanced DBS certificate. The fees are for a group of two students and do tutoring from my home only.
