I have a Post Grad Cert in Education from University of Edinburgh, BA Hons in Philosophy & Economics from UCL and A-Levels in English Lit, History, Economics and Urdu from Sir George Monoux 6th Form College. I have undertaken a Teacher Training course in 2016-17.
I have a passion for History/Heritage, Language, Literature and Learning itself. I am an Education professional because every session, every course, every student is a continuous learning experience for the teacher as well.
Alongside tuition, I run a small business providing craft activities in Care Homes.
I write, primarily poetry, as a hobby and for occasional public performance.
I have been providing 1-2-1 and group tuition as a freelance tutor since 2015. In 2016-17, I trained as a teacher, gaining experience of classroom delivery within secondary schools and increasingly my knowledge and understanding of assessments.
As a Youthwork Professional since 2002, I have supported hundreds of young adults to gain formal and informal qualifications, through a variety of learning methods in group and 1-2-1 sessions.
In a personal capacity, throughout my life, I have helped family, friends and wider network achieve their best, through all levels of academic learning - from Primary up-to Post Graduate by providing them 1-2-1 tuition and study support.
My direct teaching experience is as a teacher and tutor within secondary schools supporting KS3, GCSE and A-Level students through the curriculum; as a private tutor developing and delivering series of sessions and providing the requisite 1-2-1 support towards attaining a set goal e.g. coursework assignment and especially exam success.
I categorise myself as a facilitator and my overall approach to educating others is person-centered mentoring and learner led knowledge development. I provide learning sessions tailored to each individual and building upon their strengths to support their development needs. I source, modify or develop learning resources that will be relevant to and fun for each learner. I support learners to set realistic achievement goals and regularly review progress through a course.
My aim for every learner is for them to be confident in their understanding and knowledge of the subject matter as well as develop learning skills they can transfer across to others subjects.
