I currently teach at a school in Cheltenham but have spent the majority of my time teaching in Solihull. I am an experienced tutor and teach Chemistry both at KS4 and KS5. I am also an examiner for AQA.
I have always had a passion for science since a very young age and work hard to pass that on to my students. Although I studied all 3 sciences and maths at A Level, Chemistry has always been my passion. This is why I chose to study pure Chemistry at Bath University. My knowledge is not limited to academia as I have also worked at global chemical corporations such as GlaxoSmithKline and DSM.
I teach Chemistry both at GCSE (KS4) and A Level (KS5). I currently teach the AQA specification. I have been teaching for 10 years - 6 years as Head of Chemistry and 2 years as Curriculum Leader of Science. I am an experienced tutor and teach Chemistry both at KS4 and KS5. I am also an examiner for AQA.
I believe in using a variety of techniques to engage my tutees such as puzzles to unpick a students understanding. I believe the most important concept in Chemistry is teaching a student to link the concepts altogether, allowing them to be able to unpick any question whether it is inorganic, organic or physical chemistry. I have a high expectation of my tutees in that I encourage a rigorous amount of examination questions done outside of the sessions to support the work done in sessions.
